Monday, 2 March 2026 - An eyewitness has detailed the tragic events that unfolded shortly after the helicopter carrying Emurua Dikir MP, Johana Ng’eno, and his colleagues crashed, killing all on board.

According to the witness, the pilot had expressed concern over poor weather conditions, noting the heavy fog and light drizzle.

He even asked locals if the weather was likely to improve.

Despite the uncertainty, the pilot proceeded with the flight before the skies cleared.

Moments later, the helicopter allegedly struck trees and crashed, bursting into flames.

Locals rushed to the scene, managing to extinguish the fire and pull out the occupants.

One of the passengers was reportedly alive but succumbed to injuries about 30 minutes later.

The pilot of the ill‑fated aircraft has been identified as George Were, a retired military officer and veteran aviator.

Hours before the tragedy, the late MP had travelled through Kapkugo, Tulwop Kony, and Endebess, where he joined residents and local leaders for a community function.
