Matthew Stafford is one of the most experienced and proven quarterbacks in the NFL right now, playing at a remarkably high level for the last 17 years. He’s someone young quarterbacks tend to model their games after, whether it’s the way he looks off defenders with his eyes or changes his arm angles to get the ball where it needs to go.
Carson Beck is a quarterback prospect in this year’s class after a successful career at Georgia and Miami, and he pays a lot of attention to Stafford in the NFL. When asked Friday which quarterback he watches the most, he mentioned Stafford’s name and proceeded to praise the veteran.
“I’d say Matthew Stafford is the one that – you know, obviously he was a Georgia guy, so when I was at Georgia, he was always the guy that I would watch and that I’ve continued to watch,” he said. “You look at the arm talent, the things he’s able to do, it’s insane. It’s unbelievable. And then also, having the success that he’s had over such a long period of time, the consistency, I don’t think people understand how amazing that is to be able to do that over such a long period of time. So that’s one of my favorites to watch and study.”

Beck could be a potential target for the Rams on Day 3 of the draft, if they don’t pick a quarterback earlier. He’s a wildly experienced prospect, already being 23 years old, and he has good arm talent for the position.
He needs to work on his accuracy and decision-making, but the potential is there for him to become a starter in the NFL someday. It would benefit him greatly to sit and learn for a year before getting a chance to start for a team.
