Skydance Revealed As Name Of Merged Paramount-WBD Company
Skydance is the name of the company that will merge Paramount and Warner Brothers Discovery.
The news was revealed on Friday, October 2, just days before the merger is expected to officially close on Tuesday, October 6. Even with the overhead name, Paramount and WBD will still remain as individual brands under that banner, with David Ellison saying that he wanted the brands to remain “in the spotlight”.
To go along with the name announcement, Skydance shared a launch video that displayed historic films like ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Sinners’, ‘Chinatown’, ‘The Godfather’, ‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Casablanca’, and ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring’.

AEW is a major sports property for Warner Brothers Discovery, with weekly shows airing on TNT, TBS, and HBO Max.
