LAZIZI MAISHA MAGIC PLUS SEASON 1 EPISODE 260 FRIDAY OCTOBER 2ND 2026

Turn Sermons, Lectures and Podcasts from Video into MP3 (Free, on Your Phone)

A lot of the most valuable recordings we keep are really audio wearing a video coat. A Sunday sermon recorded on a phone. A two-hour university lecture. A webinar replay. A podcast that was published as a video. You don’t need to watch the speaker’s face for ninety minutes, you want the words, and you’d like to listen in the matatu, in the gym, or while cooking, without a 1 GB file eating your storage.

Extracting the audio to MP3 solves all of that, and with the Uhondo audio extractor you can do it on your phone in seconds, without uploading the recording anywhere.

Why extract the audio?

  • Storage. A one-hour 720p video is often 500 MB to 1 GB. The same hour as a 128 kbps MP3 is about 55 MB.
  • Data. Sharing an MP3 on WhatsApp instead of the video saves everyone in the group hundreds of megabytes.
  • Listening. MP3s play with the screen off, in the background, in any music app, in the car, and on cheap phones.
  • Archiving. A church or school can keep years of recordings as audio for a fraction of the space.

How to do it

  1. Open pewauhondo.com/video-tools and click Extract audio.
  2. Choose the video.
  3. Pick a format and quality. For speech, MP3 at 128 kbps is ideal: clear voice, small file.
  4. Click Extract audio and download the MP3.

Extracting audio is light work, so it’s quick even on a phone. A one-minute video took about one second on a laptop in our test; an hour-long recording takes well under a minute on most devices.

Choosing the right quality

For voice, higher bitrates mostly add file size, not clarity:

  • 128 kbps – speech, sermons, lectures, interviews. Recommended.
  • 192 kbps – speech with music, worship recordings, podcasts with intros.
  • 320 kbps – music.

If you need to edit the audio afterwards, choose WAV, which is uncompressed, then export the final MP3 from your editor.

Nothing is uploaded

Recordings of sermons, classes and meetings are often personal or belong to an organisation, so where they go matters. The Uhondo tool never sends your file anywhere. It runs FFmpeg inside your browser, reads the video from your device, pulls out the audio locally, and hands you the MP3. The only download is the engine itself, once, about 30 MB, which is then cached.

That also means there’s no data cost for the recordings themselves. On a phone with a limited bundle, that’s the difference between doing it and not doing it.

Tips for a cleaner result

  • If the recording has a long silent start, use the Trim tab first (fast mode is instant) to cut it off, then extract audio from the trimmed clip.
  • If you’re sharing to a group, name the file clearly before sending: date, speaker, topic.
  • For a series, keep the same quality setting so the files are consistent.
