Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely made it clear how he wants to be utilized moving forward, when appearing on the Gruden Goes Longpodcast.
Likely is set to be a free agent this offseason, and multiple teams, including the New England Patriots, might show interest in his services. The tight end position is a sneaky need for the Patriots with Hunter Henry turning 31 years and Austin Hooper also 31 and set to hit free agency.
Likely recorded 27 catches for 307 yards and a touchdown last year in only eight game appearances. He averaged 11.4 yards per reception on the year. He is an ascending talent with the ability to block and catch passes.
“I just wanna be able to blossom," said Likely. "I felt like over the last couple of years, I've had a great vet in Mark Andrews, where he's taught me everything to be a star caliber tight end to the point, like now, I just wanna be on a team where I could just get out there and help a quarterback, help a team, be able to put as much points on the board as possible.”
Likely could be an option for a Patriots team that is looking to get younger at the tight end position.
On top of that, he is also a Massachusetts native. This could simply be a situation where the stars align perfectly for both Likely and the Patriots.
