Las Vegas Raiders general manager John Spytek has clarified how involved Tom Brady really is in football decisions.
Brady, who holds a minority ownership stake in the Raiders, has naturally drawn attention regarding his influence behind the scenes.
With the franchise holding significant draft capital and cap flexibility, speculation has centred on how much say the seven-time Super Bowl champion has in roster construction.
John Spytek says Tom Brady is involved in Raiders football decisions
Speaking in comments shared by NFL on CBS, John Spytek said: “Tom’s involved in everything, football-wise. So, anything that we do I let him know about that and we communicate about that.
“Obviously, there’s an expectation with the first pick in the draft and all the money that we have, he’s gonna be involved in this stuff,” Spytek added.
The statement confirms that Brady’s role extends well beyond symbolic ownership.
From draft strategy to quarterback evaluation, the former NFL MVP is part of ongoing discussions as the Raiders shape their future.
John Spytek explains Tom Brady’s expectations for quarterbacks
John Spytek also addressed how Brady’s presence affects quarterback evaluation, stating: “Any quarterback we have, there’s a different evaluation process and the pressure that comes with having Tom in the building.
The Raiders GM concluded: “He has an expectation for the way that position needs to be played and what goes into playing that way. The process, the preparation, all of that way before the results.”
The remarks highlight how Brady’s standards influence the organisation’s approach to the most important position on the field. Preparation, discipline, and attention to detail appear central to the criteria being applied.
With a pivotal offseason ahead, Brady’s football perspective will remain embedded in decision-making. According to Spytek, the minority owner is not a distant figure. He is part of the process.
