If anybody could help with it, a section on the transmission and manuscript history of this work would be most welcome! -- 176.94.112.129 (talk) 11:56, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Christian interpolations
Today, insertions have been made saying that the text of Suetonius includes obvious interpolations, such as
*
*that Livy was born, "seventy years before the Christian era".
The reinsertion cited Richard Carrier, “The Prospect of a Christian Interpolation in Tacitus, Annals 15.44,” Vigiliae Christianae 68 (2014): 264-83, which is available online on Brill], free for Wikipedia Library members. Neither claim appears there, and I've failed to find any such text in any edition of Suetonius I have to hand, so I've reverted the insertions. Can anyone specify where in Suetonius these interpolations appear, or provide a ref which does discuss, and preferably locate, them? We might wish to include mentions in this article and in our Suetonius on Christians. NebY (talk) 14:33, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
